Gransden Construction Ltd are a well-established Kent-based main contractor delivering refurbishment, heritage and new build projects across the South East.
Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, we are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to strengthen our commercial team.
This is a newly created role, working alongside the directors and Contracts Manager, supporting the commercial function across a range of projects typically between £100k and £2m, with increasing opportunities on projects up to £3m–£4m.
The role will work closely with our existing commercial lead, providing additional capacity across live projects while supporting the wider business as it continues to grow.
Role includes:
- Commercial management of multiple live projects, including valuations, variations and cost reporting
- Subcontractor procurement, package management, valuations and payment recommendations
- Preparing and maintaining cost/value reconciliations (CVRs) and forecasts
- Managing change control and agreeing variations with clients and subcontractors
- Supporting final account agreement on both subcontract and main contract side
- Carrying out re-measures and take-offs where required to support commercial control
- Working closely with site teams to maintain cost, programme and quality outcomes
- Client-facing communication, building strong working relationships while protecting commercial position
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
- Experience working on refurbishment and/or new build projects (heritage experience beneficial)
- Strong measurement and re-measure skills, with a practical and methodical approach
- Confident managing subcontractors and commercial processes independently
- Good commercial awareness with the ability to manage risk and change
- Clear communicator, able to build trust with clients, subcontractors and internal teams
- Comfortable working in a small, office-based team with real responsibility

Salary & Package:
- £45,000 – £58,000 depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate
- 23 days holiday plus bank holidays (31 days total)
