Job summary
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated health care assistant with a passion for caring to join our dedicated Team on Beacon Ward.
Healthcare Assistants are an integral part of the nursing team, providing direct patient care and supporting registered nurses in the delivery of safe, high-quality care. They assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal care, nutrition and hydration, mobility, and maintaining comfort and dignity.
Healthcare Assistants support the care of patients with cancer-related complications and treatment side effects. They undertake routine observations, monitor and report any changes in a patient's condition, assist with admission and discharge processes, support infection prevention measures, and contribute to delivering a positive patient experience.
Healthcare Assistants also provide emotional support to patients and their families, help maintain a safe ward environment, and ensure patients' individual needs are met. Their role is essential in supporting patient flow, maintaining care standards, and enabling registered nurses to focus on complex clinical assessments and interventions.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
Experience of working in a care setting would be advantageous but all necessary skills training, professional updates and mandatory training as appropriate to the post will be provided.
