Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant (Nights) to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supervising and supporting care staff during night shifts, ensuring the delivery of excellent care in a safe and respectful environment. This role offers an opportunity to lead with compassion while maintaining high standards of service within a care home setting.
Duties
- Supervise and support care staff during night shifts, ensuring the delivery of person-centered care aligned with individual care plans.
- Assist residents with personal care, medication administration, and daily activities while promoting dignity and independence.
- Monitor residents’ health and well-being throughout the night, promptly addressing any concerns or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including incident reports and medication records.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Lead by example in adhering to health and safety protocols, safeguarding policies, and regulatory standards.
- Support the training and development of junior staff members, fostering a positive team environment.
Requirements
- Level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care is essential
- Proven experience in senior care within a care home environment, with supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to implement personalized care strategies.
- Driving license is desirable to facilitate transportation needs if required.
- Familiarity with IT systems used for documentation and care management is advantageous.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with leadership qualities that motivate and guide team members.
