Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Person to Cook and prep meals and able to work alone covering our current chefs days off, this will include all aspects of the kitchen including cleaning washing up and cleaning down the kitchen and mopping. This is a great opportunity to join our vibrant hospitality team. This role involves supporting the kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness and assisting with food preparation and cooking. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent organisational skills, and a friendly attitude to ensure our guests enjoy a seamless dining experience. Previous experience in restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environments is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills within a lively pub setting.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including basic cooking and plating of dishes under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Support the kitchen team in organising ingredients and supplies for efficient service
- Help with stock rotation and inventory checks to ensure freshness and safety standards are met
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist in serving food and beverages to customers when required
- Support the team during busy periods by helping with general duties around the pub environment
- Follow all hygiene protocols diligently to uphold cleanliness standards
Skills
- Experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant or hospitality environment is desirable
- Strong understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Friendly, team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills
- Prior experience in serving or hospitality roles is advantageous but not mandatory
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various tasks within the kitchen setting
