As the company’s Health & Safety Manager you will be required to provide competent knowledge to promote and generate a positive health and safety culture across projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and work with project teams to ensure high standards of compliance and behaviours regarding Health and Safety
- Promote company values with employees, clients, subcontractors, and external contacts
- Ensure health and safety procedures are implemented
- Plan, implement, monitor, and review protective and preventative measures
- Carry out SHE audits, inspections and record findings
- Minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents, incidents and injuries
- Attend design/project team meetings
- Carry out inductions
- Prepare RAMS
- Give toolbox talks
- Answering H&S Questionnaires
- Advising on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases
- Work with Contracts Managers and Supervisors to ensure they have the timely, accurate issue of documentation prior to commencing works
- Support further development to our existing H&S systems
- Incorporate necessary changes into IMS documents
- Liaise with statutory authorities
Our ideal candidate
- NEBOSH
- University Degree (preferable)
- Minimum 3 years experience working in a health and safety management role within the construction sector
- Demonstrable continual professional development; keeping up to date with new Health & Safety legislation
- Broad understanding and experience of Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation and Codes of Practice
- Experience giving inductions, toolbox talks and RAMS
- Strong communication both written and verbal
- Full driving licence
