Workshop Engineer
Location: Wellingborough
Salary: £38,000 - £55,000 (DOE)

- Salary of £35,000 - £55,000, depending on experience
- Choice of a 40-hour or 45-hour working week

The Role
As a Workshop Engineer, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of material handling equipment, including forklift trucks and warehouse machinery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing electrical, hydraulic and mechanical faults
- Repairing equipment to the highest standards
- Completing pre-delivery inspections
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently
- Maintaining accurate service records using modern IT systems
- Supporting the workshop team to deliver outstanding customer service
You'll work on a varied range of equipment, from electric pallet trucks through to large engine-powered counterbalance forklifts and specialist warehouse trucks, giving you exposure to the latest engineering technology.
About You
We're interested in hearing from engineers with experience in:
- Forklift trucks
- Plant machinery
- Agricultural machinery
- Powered access equipment
- HGVs or commercial vehicles
- Automotive or vehicle maintenance
- Industrial cleaning equipment
- Mechanical or electrical engineering
Ideally, you'll also have:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a mechanical or engineering discipline (preferred but not essential)
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good IT skills for recording work and ordering parts
- A full UK driving licence
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A positive, customer-focused attitude
