Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plumbing and Heating Engineer with minimum 5 years experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and heating systems across various sites. This role requires a versatile professional with experience in multiple construction trades, including carpentry, roofing, masonry, welding, electrical work, and fabrication. The ideal applicant will demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to deliver high-quality service.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair plumbing and heating systems in residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
- Conduct boiler changes and servicing.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Read technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate installation and repairs.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various tasks.
- Fabricate custom components as required for specialised installations or repairs.
- Carry out carpentry tasks related to pipework supports or system enclosures.
- Perform roofing repairs or modifications when necessary to ensure system integrity.
- Apply masonry skills for structural adjustments or foundation work related to plumbing systems.
- Use welding techniques for pipe joining or system modifications where applicable.
- Assist with electrical connections ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment while adhering to health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in plumbing and heating installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Knowledge of carpentry, roofing, masonry, welding, electrical systems, and fabrication is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction trades.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Valid UK driving licence is preferred due to site visits; own transport is advantageous but not essential.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in plumbing, heating engineering, or related trades are mandatory.
