Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Plasterer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying plaster to interior and exterior surfaces, creating smooth, durable finishes that enhance the aesthetic and structural integrity of buildings. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure optimal plaster adhesion.
- Mix plaster materials accurately according to project specifications, utilizing hand tools and power tools.
- Apply plaster using trowels, hawks, and other hand tools to achieve smooth finishes on walls, ceilings, and other surfaces.
- Collaborate with bricklayers, masons, carpenters, and other trades to coordinate work sequences effectively.
- Repair damaged surfaces or existing plasterwork by chipping out old material and reapplying new layers.
- Operate roofing equipment and perform masonry tasks as needed for specialized applications.
- Follow safety protocols diligently when working with welding equipment or handling heavy materials.
Requirements
- Proven experience in plastering or related trades such as masonry or carpentry.
- Proficiency with hand tools including trowels, floats, and chisels; familiarity with power tools is essential.
- Knowledge of bricklaying techniques and masonry principles for complex finishes.
- Ability to work confidently at heights when performing roofing-related tasks.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to welding and heavy machinery operation.
- Excellent teamwork skills to coordinate with various tradespeople on-site.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods and handle heavy materials comfortably.
