Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Dental Receptionist to join our friendly dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, with a strong background in office and administrative tasks within a healthcare setting. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a welcoming environment where patient care and administrative efficiency are paramount. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing patient appointments, handling administrative duties, and ensuring smooth daily operations of the practice. We also need the applicant to be available to cover holiday leave on the occasional Friday and Saturday mornings 8am -1pm
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and rescheduling with accuracy and efficiency
- Handle all front desk duties including answering phone calls, responding to emails and texts, and managing patient enquiries
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information in the practice management system
- Process payments, insurance claims, and billing procedures in accordance with practice policies
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence
- Coordinate with dental team members to ensure seamless patient flow and service delivery
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to GDPR regulations regarding patient information
- Support the team with general office duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the practice
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar healthcare administrative role
- Strong office experience with excellent organisational skills
- Demonstrable administrative experience with attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Have good knowledge of using Dentally or SOE and MS Office suite
- Ability to remain calm under pressure whilst managing multiple tasks effectively
- Professional demeanour with a friendly approach towards patients and colleagues
- Flexibility to work within scheduled hours, maintaining punctuality and reliability
