Job Purpose
To manufacture, assemble, and prepare high-quality garage doors and associated components in a safe, efficient, and productive manner, ensuring all products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble garage doors, panels, frames, tracks, and hardware according to production drawings and work instructions.
- Operate manufacturing machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Measure, cut, drill, and prepare materials to required specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the production process and report any defects or non-conformances.
- Pack finished products securely for storage or dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety procedures.
- Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions at all times.
- Assist with stock handling, material movement, and inventory control as required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to meet daily production targets.
- Report equipment faults, maintenance issues, or safety concerns promptly.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
Skills and ExperienceEssential
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to follow written instructions and technical drawings.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling and standing for extended periods.
Desirable
- Experience in garage door, window, door, or metal fabrication manufacturing.
- Forklift licence (where applicable).
- Experience operating production machinery.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
Working Conditions
- Factory-based role.
- Manual handling of materials and finished products.
- Standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive tasks throughout the working day.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety footwear, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection where required.

The Production Operative is responsible for:
