The White Lady is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Sous Chef to support our Head Chef in running a busy kitchen. The White Lady, is a family restaurant that has quickly become a popular local destination. We can offer a work life balance with some time off over the weekend working 40 hrs per week, an attractive hourly rate, small friendly team working with great seasonal produce.
The White Lady offers breakfast, dinners, and traditional Sunday roasts in a relaxed, welcoming setting, serving freshly prepared food alongside a wide selection of beers, wines and spirits. As our reputation grows, so does our team — with up to 100 covers on a Sunday, we’re looking for a Sous Chef who enjoys working in a busy, supportive kitchen.
You'll play a key role in maintaining high food standards, supporting the kitchen team and ensuring every dish leaving the kitchen is something to be proud of
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
- Preparing and cooking fresh food to a consistently high standard.
- Supervising the kitchen team in the Head Chef's absence.
- Assisting with stock control and ordering.
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and cleanliness.
- Helping train and develop junior kitchen staff.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Chef or Sous Chef looking to progress.
- Enjoys working in a busy kitchen environment.
- Has excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Takes pride in producing quality food.
- Is a positive team player with a strong work ethic.
- Holds a good understanding of food hygiene and safety.
