Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Woodworking Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining woodworking machinery to produce high-quality components and assemblies. Duties
- Operate various woodworking machinery, including cross cutting saw, planers, straight line edging machine and drum sander, ensuring precise fabrication of parts.
- Interpret drawings and production sheets and ensure workload is completed before the end of the working day
- Perform routine maintenance, adjustments, and troubleshooting on machinery to minimise downtime.
- Handle materials safely, including loading, unloading, and organising stock within the workshop or warehouse environment.
- Use hand tools and specialised tooling to complete assembly tasks and refine finished products.
- Maintain detailed records of production activities, inspections, and machine settings.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
- Skills
- Proven experience in fabrication, machining, or woodworking environments.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and materials handling techniques.
- Skilled in machining, assembly, and the use of hand tools.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements, calculations, and interpreting technical drawings.
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with materials organisation within a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to operate tooling efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail; capable of working independently or as part of a team.
