Job Overview:
- We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients and assist physiotherapists in the clinic or during home visits. Your primary focus will be on assisting patients and physiotherapists pre, post and during the examination/procedures, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. Main Duties:
- To work as an integral part of the team, providing a high standard of patient centered care, meeting the needs of patients, visitors and clinicians.
- A good communication with a patient by greeting in a courteous and professional manner.
- Confirm the patient details with actual records.
- Feed the patient details on to system accurately.
- Assist the physiotherapists or other health professional in order to perform their procedures by cleaning the ultrasound equipment and couch prior to and post examination.
- Use appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Provide appropriate instructions to patients about the pre and post examination/procedure.
- Communicate appropriately with visitors and patient relatives or friends.
- Liaises with professional staff in carrying out your duties.
- Support and assist the patients safely using proper manual handling procedures, before, during and after the examination and advocate for their comfort and well-being.
- Act as a first-line investigator for any issues encountered during clinical sessions, liaising with the patient services team to ensure quick resolutions.
- This job description is not exhaustive. Staff may be required to undertake any other duties at the request of the line manager, which are commensurate with the band, including project work, internal job rotation and absence cover.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent exposure to unpleasant conditions e.g. verbal abuse, bodily fluids, unpleasant smells.
- Use of own car to undertake visits in the different sites.
- Undertake lone working e.g. emergency on call duties.
- Undertake weekend working (on rota) as per service requirements
- Cope with the mental and physical demands of working in acute areas independently.
- Work in unpleasant conditions such as body and bodily fluid odour.

Qualifications required:
- Any healthcare qualifications such as a BTEC or NVQ Level 3/4 or Diploma in Health & Social Care/midwifery/nursing. BSc Nursing.
Experiences required:
- No experience required. Training will be provided. But it would be an added advantage if you have anyexperience of healthcare – this could be from paid or voluntary work, or through experience you bring in from previous roles.
Pay: £24,420.00-£28,000.00 per year
