Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Kitchen Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook meals according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including work surfaces, utensils, and equipment
- Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist with meal plating and presentation to ensure visual appeal
- Monitor stock levels and notify management of supplies needed for upcoming shifts
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Adhere to health and safety policies, including proper handling of food and equipment
Experience
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen safety practices
- Familiarity with meal preparation processes and food safety regulations
- Experience working in a fast-paced setting with attention to detail and efficiency is advantageous
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
Pay
. Successful completion of the six-month probationary period will result in an increase in pay to £13.50 per hour.
