The purpose of this post is to work with the Foundation Learning Lead and teaching staff to support the holistic development of pupils, providing specialist support to the teacher in any aspect of the curriculum.
The successful candidate will:

- Work alongside the Foundational Learning Lead to support students to better access the secondary curriculum
- Have high expectations of themselves and the ability to instil these in staff and students alike
- Be a committed team player
- Be invested in enabling student progress, whilst also developing the students holistically
Essential
-
NVQ level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience together with a working knowledge of national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies.
- GCSE English and maths at C (or above) Grade (or equivalent)
- Experience of working with young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
Desirable

Relevant information, communication and technology qualification e.g. ECDL etc.
- HLTA status – Or working towards
