We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Care Home Cook to join our vibrant setting based on Hoylake promenade 2 days a week. Duties
- Plan and develop diverse menus that meet nutritional guidelines and accommodate special dietary requirements
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals with precision, ensuring high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation
- Handle food safely by adhering to strict hygiene protocols, proper food handling procedures, and sanitation standards
- Assist with food portioning and plating to ensure appealing presentation for residents
- Collaborate with dietary aides and staff to coordinate meal times and special event catering
- Maintain accurate records of food inventory, storage conditions, and expiration dates
- Support the dietary department by contributing to meal prep activities and ensuring timely service during busy periods
Qualifications
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or a culinary role within a care home, restaurant, or food industry setting is desired but not essential
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
- Skilled in food industry practices such as catering, serving, and kitchen operations
- Background in fine dining or restaurant experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
