The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences in the School of Physical, Chemical and Environmental Sciences, Cardiff University, is seeking to appoint a fixed-term Lecturer in Structural Geology and Geological Mapping (Teaching and Scholarship).
The successful candidate should share our passion for high quality interdisciplinary education and scholarship and be able to contribute to a range of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Earth and Environmental Sciences, including lectures and workshops, geoscience practical classes and fieldwork, and supervision of undergraduate and taught postgraduate research and placement projects in both Cardiff University and Cardiff University Kazakhstan. We are particularly interested in hiring a colleague with expertise in structural geology coupled with field-based geological mapping and subsurface analysis.
The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences is a lively and dynamic community that aims to promote sustainability through education, dissemination and direct participation, enabling students and staff to make positive changes to our environmental impact, in particular supporting Cardiff University’s declaration of a Climate Emergency and aim to become carbon neutral (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2030.

The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualification and experience, within the following grade band:
Lecturer Salary: £41,064 - £46,049 per annum (Grade 6)
