The Dukeries Lodge is a busy pub, restaurant and 17-bedroom hotel located in the heart of Edwinstowe. Following an extensive £1.5 million refurbishment, we are looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Team Leader to join our management team and help us continue developing the business.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality supervisor or team leader, or for someone with strong hospitality experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.
About the role
As Team Leader, you will be the first line of management for our front-of-house team. You will take responsibility for running shifts in the absence of another manager, while also supporting the wider management team during busy periods.
You will lead from the front, setting a positive example and helping to create a friendly, motivated and high-performing team. The Dukeries Lodge is a varied and fast-paced business, serving hotel breakfasts, lunches, evening meals and drinks throughout the day, so flexibility with working hours is essential.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the team during busy shifts
- Delivering excellent customer service through both bar and table service
- Opening and closing the pub and completing the relevant procedures
- Allocating duties and ensuring team members remain productive and engaged
- Supporting the kitchen team and helping to coordinate service between the kitchen and front of house
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and personal hygiene
- Ensuring company procedures, licensing requirements and health and safety standards are followed
- Supporting food safety and allergen procedures
- Handling customer queries and resolving problems professionally
- Helping to train, develop and motivate team members
- Contributing ideas for team incentives and creating a fun, friendly working environment
About you
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a supervisory, team leader or management role within hospitality, leisure or retail.
However, we are equally interested in hearing from experienced hospitality team members who are ready to take on more responsibility and progress into management. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
You should be:
- Confident leading and motivating a team
- Friendly, approachable and comfortable dealing with customers
- Reliable and able to remain calm under pressure
- Organised and capable of managing several priorities at once
- Willing to lead by example and get involved wherever needed
- Flexible regarding early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays
