We are looking for an experienced Commercial Plumbing & Heating Project Manager to join our growing team, based in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual with a strong background in mechanical building services to take ownership of a portfolio of planned and reactive maintenance contracts across the manufacturing production, commercial office, and educational sectors.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of engineering teams and subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard, while building strong relationships with clients and site stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
● Manage the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of manufacturing, commercial office, and educational sites
● Oversee mobile and site-based engineering teams, allocating workload and ensuring efficient scheduling of works
● Use the company's CAFM system to schedule engineers, manage PPM and reactive maintenance works, and coordinate the 24/7 callout rota
● Act as the primary point of contact for clients, attending regular contract review meetings and building strong working relationships
● Manage subcontractors, ensuring works are carried out safely, compliantly, and to specification
● Monitor and control project and contract budgets, including quotations, variations, and invoicing
● Ensure all works comply with current health & safety legislation, including CDM regulations, and relevant industry standards (e.g. Gas Safe, OFTEC, F-Gas, Water Regulations)
● Carry out site inspections and audits to ensure quality of works and compliance
● Produce accurate reports, RAMS, and documentation for clients and internal management
● Carry out site surveys and prepare accurate estimates for works, in line with SFG20 planned maintenance guidelines
● Identify opportunities for additional works and support the sales/estimating process where required
● Manage stock, materials, and plant/equipment requirements for ongoing works
● Support recruitment, training, and development of engineering staff.
Skills & Experience Required
● Proven experience as a Project Manager, Contracts Manager, or Supervisor within commercial plumbing and heating/building services
● Strong technical knowledge of commercial heating, plumbing, and associated M&E systems
● Experience managing maintenance contracts within manufacturing, food, commercial office, and/or educational environments (essential)
● Sound understanding of health & safety legislation, CDM regulations, and safe systems of work
● Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience managing engineers and subcontractors
● Excellent client-facing and communication skills
● Experience using a CAFM (Computer-Aided Facilities Management) system for job scheduling, PPM planning, and callout management
● Willingness to participate in and manage a 24/7 emergency callout rota
● Experience carrying out surveys and estimating own works, with a sound working knowledge of SFG20 planned maintenance guidelines
● Track record of successfully delivering maintenance works, breakdowns, and callouts within commercial or industrial environments
● Commercially aware, with experience managing budgets, quotations, and variations
● Full UK driving licence
● Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating, SMSTS/SSSTS, or similar (desirable)
● Gas Safe / OFTEC / ACS qualifications advantageous, as required by the role

Pay: £48,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
