About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Maintenance Operative to join our busy serviced accommodation team.
The role will involve carrying out general maintenance, repairs, property set-ups and refurbishment work across our portfolio of properties in Birmingham and the surrounding areas.
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, practical, organised and able to work independently, with good attention to detail and pride in their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance and repairs across residential properties
- Complete plumbing, carpentry, decorating and general handyman tasks
- Carry out property set-ups and preparation
- Assist with refurbishment projects and property improvements
- Repair and replace fixtures, fittings, doors, handles, locks and other items
- Identify and report maintenance issues before they become bigger problems
- Assemble furniture and carry out minor repairs
- Complete painting, filling and finishing work to a good standard
- Attend properties to deal with urgent maintenance issues when required
- Ensure properties are safe, presentable and ready for guests
- Work efficiently and complete jobs within agreed timeframes
- Keep the maintenance team updated on completed and outstanding work
- Maintain a clean and tidy working environment
Experience
- Have previous experience in a maintenance role
- Be confident carrying out a range of general maintenance tasks
- Have good practical and problem-solving skills
- Be reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Take pride in delivering a high standard of work
- Be flexible and able to work across different properties
- Have good communication skills
- Have your own tools and transport
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
