We are currently looking to recruit two enthusiastic and dedicated Cooks to join our kitchen teams. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing nutritious, home-cooked meals and making a positive difference in the lives of elderly residents.
The Role
As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents. Working closely with the Home Manager and care team, you will help create enjoyable dining experiences while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present nutritious meals and snacks for residents.
- Plan menus that cater for dietary requirements, allergies, and personal preferences.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations.
- Keep accurate records relating to food temperatures, cleaning schedules, and allergen management.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide an excellent dining experience for residents.
- Contribute ideas for seasonal menus, themed meals, and special occasions.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working as a Cook, Chef, or Kitchen Assistant.
- Holds a Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above desirable).
- Has knowledge of special diets and nutritional requirements for older adults.
- Is organised, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Has a caring and compassionate approach.
- Enjoys working as part of a team.
- Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and pride in their work.
