Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in accordance with care plans.
- Support individuals with mobility and daily activities, promoting independence where possible.
- Administer medication as directed and maintain accurate records of care provided.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure holistic care delivery.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Document care activities accurately using IT systems and care documentation tools.
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through companionship and active listening.
- Follow organisational policies regarding confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
- Driving licence is advantageous for roles involving community or home visits.
- Familiarity with developing or following care plans is beneficial.
- Good communication skills in English are essential for effective interaction with residents and team members.
- Basic IT skills are preferred for maintaining accurate records and documentation. This position requires a caring attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidates should demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism at all times to ensure the best possible support for those in their care.
