Job Purpose
The Night Supervisor - Distribution is responsible for leading and coordinating all overnight distribution and warehouse activities to ensure the safe, accurate, and timely receipt, storage, loading, and dispatch of goods. The role ensures operational efficiency, stock accuracy, compliance with health and safety standards, and effective management of warehouse staff and equipment during the night shift. As a key operational leader, the Nights Supervisor will motivate, coach, and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Main Job Responsibilities
§ Overseeing the receipt and dispatch of goods, coordinating with transportation providers, and ensuring timely and accurate loading.
§ Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing company health and safety policies and procedures.
§ Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
§ Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all staff follow safe working practices.
§ Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
§ Ensuring accuracy and quality control in all warehouse processes, including checking for damaged product before orders dispatched
§ Performing regular stock checks, and addressing any discrepancies.
§ Monitoring and maintaining warehouse equipment, such as forklifts to ensure they are in proper working condition.
§ Reporting defects on forklifts.
§ Check sheets for each truck monitored to ensure they are in good working order.
§ Identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies that arise in warehouse operations.
§ Contribute to process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
§ Monitor workload and allocate resources effectively to achieve operational targets and service levels.
§ Lead, motivate, and supervise the night shift team.

Required Competencies

He/she is required to have the ability to work on their own initiative having the ability to start an action, including coming up with a proposal and giving or assisting without first being requested to do so.
- Leadership: demonstrating ability to motivate other team members to work at speed, with 100% accuracy and towards achieving a common goal, inspiring confidence in others as a Supervisor. Having the ability to give constructive feedback and providing direction to all team members.
- Communication: conveying information clearly and accurately to and from other team members, management and other plant functions such as production, customer services and quality. Good listening and basic computer skills are essential.
Person Specification
- Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory or team leader role.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and distribution processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Attention to detail
- Problem-solving and decision-making
- Experience of enforcing health and safety procedures within a warehouse environment.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure.
- Competent IT skills
- Forklift Truck (FLT) licen
Working hours : Monday to Friday 9 pm till 6 am
