RATE OF PAY: NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE
HOURS: PART TIME 10-30 HOURS and holiday cover
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate person for the role of a Daycare/Kennel/Cattery Assistant to join 5 star licensed kennels based in Upholland. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service. As a Animal care Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of the animals in our care (including both cats and dogs) while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces.
- Monitoring and recording the health and behaviour of animals and reporting any concerns
- Assist with the administration of medications.
- Communication with pet owners to provide updates on their animals and address any questions or concerns.
- Handle heavy lifting when moving supplies or assisting with larger animals.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures.
- Must be comfortable in working outdoors in all weathers
Qualifications
- Strong background in animal care and handling is desirable but not essential
- MUST be punctual, time keeping and reliability is an essential requirement of this role.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
- Skilled at taking pictures of the animals and updating social media.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with animal care.
- Dog behaviour knowledge and skills including understanding basic body language.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare.
- Team player who can work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for somebody who most importantly loves dogs and cats, has a motivated attitude to work, high cleaning standards and enjoys working as part of a team!
We are expecting a high volume of interest so please be patient with us.
MUST have reliable means of transport to get to us, ideally own car and driving license

Shifts will be between 7.30am-6pm Monday - Friday 7:30am-5pm Saturday and 7:30am-3pm Sundays
