Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are seeking a Lecturer in Carpentry & Joinery to deliver high-quality teaching and learning across a range of Carpentry and Joinery programmes. The successful candidate will carry out a full range of teaching duties and associated administrative responsibilities, supporting students to achieve their full potential and develop the skills required for employment within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Carpentry & Joinery lessons to learners of varying abilities.
- Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support progress and achievement.
- Monitor and record learner attendance, progress and achievements in line with college procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all associated administrative duties.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of curriculum programmes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within workshop and classroom environments.
- Support learners with pastoral and academic guidance where appropriate.
- Participate in quality assurance processes, team meetings and staff development activities.
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion throughout all aspects of teaching and learning.
Essential Requirements:
- Teaching qualification
- NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry & Joinery, Advanced Craft Certificate, or equivalent vocational qualification.
- Relevant industrial experience within the Carpentry & Joinery sector.
- Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent).
- IT skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality education and learner outcomes.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience of teaching or training within a Further Education environment.
- Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurance qualifications.
- Knowledge of current industry standards and developments within the construction sector.

Contract Type: Temporary
Hours: Approximately 24 paid teaching hours per week (subject to change)
