Overview
We are looking for a reliable and organised Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial administration of our business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, has excellent attention to detail, and is confident managing bookkeeping and administrative tasks.
The successful candidate will ensure our financial records remain accurate and up to date while providing administrative support across accounts, payments, and customer finance queries.
This role will be 1 day per week, pro rata. With some flexibility to suit business needs. You will be based in our Portsmouth office.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile bank accounts and financial transactions.
- Match and process receipts and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Support month-end bookkeeping and reporting requirements.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and aged debt.
- Chase overdue client payments alongside the Commercial Director.
- Manage the accounts inbox and respond to finance-related queries.
- Process employee expenses accurately and promptly.
- Process customer refunds when required.
- Update customer account details within the payment system and manage customer subscriptions through the website.
- Ensure financial records and documents are well organised.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling financial information.
Qualifications
- Previous bookkeeping or finance administration experience.
- Experience using accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks or similar) is desirable.
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Professional and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Experience handling confidential financial information with discretion.

Pay: £25,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
