Project Support / Commercial Administrator
Location: CW7 1AH – Crewe/Cheshire Area
Hours: 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour
Working Pattern: Office / Home Based with travel to local sites as required
The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Project Support / Commercial Administrator to join a busy Facilities Management projects team supporting the Cheshire East Council account.
This is a varied role providing financial, commercial and administrative support to a Project Management team responsible for delivering minor and capital works projects valued at up to £250k each, with an annual programme of approximately £5m.
The successful candidate will need excellent organisational and communication skills, strong commercial awareness and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced projects environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing final accounts for capital and minor works projects.
- Producing weekly labour utilisation reports.
- Creating IOs for new projects and maintaining project trackers.
- Raising, managing and receipting Purchase Orders using COUPA.
- Managing purchase card logs for Project Managers.
- Reviewing WIP and earned values to support accurate project billing.
- Monitoring project WIP and debt.
- Maintaining accurate financial forecasts and project information.
- Inputting operative timesheets into SAP.
- Preparing monthly payment applications for capital works.
- Supporting Project Managers with the management of project variations.
- Holding regular meetings with Project Managers to review financial information, forecasts and project progress.
- Supporting project costing and general commercial administration.
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
- Ensuring financial policies and company procedures are followed.
- Maintaining accurate records in line with company quality management requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a similar project administration, commercial support or financial administration role.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a busy environment.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Experience with SAP, COUPA or similar systems would be advantageous.
- Facilities Management, construction or building services experience would be beneficial.
- Self-motivated, reliable and able to work with minimal supervision.
