Job Description:
Position Overview: As a Class 2 Refuse Driver, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in our community. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently collecting, transporting, and disposing of solid waste and recyclables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a Class 2 refuse truck on designated routes for waste and recycling collection.
- Safely load, transport, and unload waste containers using hydraulic equipment.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the safe operation of the vehicle.
- Maintain accurate records of collections, incidents, and vehicle maintenance.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents and businesses.
- Assist in route planning and optimization for efficient waste collection.
- Contribute to our commitment to environmental sustainability by separating recyclable materials and following eco-friendly practices.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 2 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as a Class 2 Refuse Driver or similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of local waste collection regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to operate hydraulic equipment and handle waste containers.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform heavy lifting and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Monday to Friday 0400 - based Midlands area
