Amica Care is excited to be opening Greenlands Meadow, our brand-new care home, in August 2026. We are now looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our catering team and help create a safe, clean and welcoming dining experience for our residents. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new team from the very beginning, supporting the preparation and service of nutritious meals that make a real difference to residents' wellbeing every day.
The Role:
The Kitchen Assistant plays an important role in maintaining food safety, infection prevention standards and supporting residents' dignity and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Chef with food preparation, meal service and the preparation of drinks and snacks for residents.
- Help create a positive dining experience by serving meals safely, respectfully and in line with residents' needs.
- Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene and infection prevention throughout each shift.
- Follow food safety procedures, including safe food handling, allergen controls, temperature checks and stock rotation.
- Assist with deliveries, safe food storage and reporting any equipment faults, hazards or concerns.
- Work as part of the kitchen and wider home team, communicating respectfully with colleagues and residents.
- Follow Amica Care policies, procedures and values, including health and safety and mandatory training requirements.
About You:
You do not need formal experience to apply, but you should be willing to learn and complete the required training, including food safety and infection prevention. Previous experience in a kitchen, domestic or food preparation role would be helpful, but what matters most is a positive attitude, reliability and a willingness to support residents with care and respect.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, can follow instructions and works well as part of a team. You will be organised, respectful and compassionate, with good communication skills and a professional approach to supporting a safe, welcoming dining experience for residents.
