Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Northampton
Hours of work: Some flexibility- Mon to Fri 07:00-16:00/ 08:00-17:00/ 09:00-18:00
Salary: £55,000-£70,000 depending on experience
Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing and well-established business based in Northampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded QS looking to develop their career whilst working on a range of exciting construction and infrastructure projects.
Please note, roofing and cladding experience is essential for this opportunity.
What you'll do:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the financial performance of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts
- Monitoring costs and reporting on financial performance
- Supporting subcontractor procurement, tendering, and negotiations
- Preparing and assessing interim valuations and payments
- Managing subcontractor accounts, variations, and final accounts
- Assisting with contract administration (JCT / NEC)
- Liaising closely with site teams, project managers, and senior commercial staff
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Must have roofing and cladding experience
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the UK construction sector for a minimum of 5 years
- Good working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Confident communicator with solid negotiation skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
