Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Nursery Lunch Time Cover to provide support during lunchtime hours at our early childhood education centre. The successful candidate will assist with supervising children, ensuring their safety, and fostering a positive environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about childcare and early childhood development to contribute to a nurturing setting. The position is paid and suitable for those with experience working with children or in nursery settings.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children during lunch breaks, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Assist children with eating, encouraging good manners and independence
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities to promote social interaction and enjoyment
- Maintain a clean and organised dining area before and after lunch sessions
- Support children with any additional needs or behavioural guidance as required
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and children to ensure a smooth lunchtime routine
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently, including hygiene standards and safeguarding policies
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare environment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development best practices
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment
- Childcare qualifications or relevant training are preferred
- A caring attitude, patience, and excellent organisational skills
