We are looking for an experienced and motivated Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) or Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our friendly and supportive clinical team on a bank basis with a potential for permanent position
This is an excellent opportunity for an autonomous clinician who enjoys working within primary care and is looking for flexible sessional work. We are keen to develop a small pool of trusted clinicians who can provide cover for annual leave, sickness absence and periods of increased demand.
About Us
Rotherfield and The Brook Surgeries are two sites of a well-established rural GP practice committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care to our local communities.
We pride ourselves on maintaining a supportive team culture where clinicians are valued, respected and encouraged to work collaboratively. Our multidisciplinary team includes GPs, ACPs, Nurses, HCAs, Pharmacists and Administrative staff who work closely together to deliver safe, effective and compassionate care.
All incoming requests for consultations are managed via Total Clinical Triage, which is becoming embedded in how we work. The successful applicant will play a full role in this, with training and support available from within the practice.
The Role
The successful applicant will:
- Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with undifferentiated and acute conditions. Some of this work will be done over the phone, so telephone consultation skills are essential.
- Independently manage a wide range of presentations within their scope of practice.
- Prescribe safely and appropriately as an Independent Prescriber.
- Request, interpret and act upon investigations.
- Refer patients appropriately and coordinate ongoing care.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain high standards of clinical care, record keeping and professional practice.
- Participate in clinical governance activities as required.
Essential Requirements
- Current registration with the NMC, HCPC or relevant professional body.
- MSc Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent advanced practice qualification.
- Independent Prescriber qualification.
- Significant experience working autonomously within primary care.
- Excellent consultation, assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to safely manage undifferentiated presentations including by telephone
Desirable Requirements
- Digital Badge or RCN Credentialing.
- Experience using SystmOne.
- Experience in urgent same-day care and minor illness management.
- Long-term condition management experience.
- Experience supporting or supervising other clinicians.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to work closely with a local community and provide continuity of care.
- Flexible sessional work to fit around your existing commitments.
- A welcoming and supportive clinical team.
- Access to clinical supervision and peer support.
- Opportunities to contribute to service development and quality improvement.
- Free on-site parking.
- Beautiful rural working environment.
We recognise that bank clinicians are often balancing multiple professional commitments.
We are therefore happy to discuss flexible working arrangements and would welcome applications from experienced ACPs and ANPs looking for anything from occasional sessions through to more regular bank work.
