About the School
Employability Solutions is a specialist independent school providing full time, inclusive education and pastoral support, built around the needs of each student. We cater for those who may have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), complex Social, Emotional or Mental Health (SEMH) needs or Special Educational Needs (SEN), requiring a bespoke approach. We deliver flexible, integrated pathways supporting young people aged 11-25, from re-engagement, to employment, independence and beyond.
Founded in 2010, we are an award-winning Social Enterprise, flagship school for Inclusion (IQM) and graded ‘Good’ with Ofsted. We work across Merseyside and West Yorkshire and in partnership with several Local Authorities, Secondary Schools Virtual Schools and SEND commissioning teams.
We are looking for someone who:
Can lead and coordinate the complete SEND journey, maintaining compliance with the SEND Code of Practice 2015, Children and Families Act 2014 and JCQ Exam Access Arrangements.
Will ensure high-quality, inclusive and trauma-informed practice, embedding a consistent, whole-school approach.
Can build strong partnerships with families, staff, and external professionals to secure tailored support and successful outcomes for every
Holds NASENCO Qualification or equivalent plus a Level 7 specialist qualification
Holds a relevant professional teaching qualification with QTS/QTLS
Has relevant experience with KS3, KS4 and KS5 students, in an alternative / specialist setting or similar.
Has excellent leadership skills and experience of supporting others within a teaching and learning environment
Can build excellent relationships with the young people and their families as well as other professionals and outside agencies.
Understands the challenges associated with caring for young people with significant gaps in their education, or who have developmental trauma and conditions such as ADHD and ASC for example.
Has an excellent standard of English and a conscientious approach to ensuring school communications and reports are professional and accurate.
Has experience of using school information systems e.g., Eduspot, Evolve, etc
