We are a well-established, family-run building and joinery contractor with over 50 years of trading history, delivering repair, maintenance and project works across Edinburgh, the Lothians and the Scottish Borders for local authorities, the NHS and housing associations.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, we are looking to add an experienced Multi-Skilled Builder to our directly employed workforce.
The Role
You will carry out a varied mix of repair, maintenance and refurbishment works across occupied and void domestic properties, as well as public and commercial buildings. No two days are the same — you'll be working across a range of trades, with plastering and decorating as your core skills.
Typical duties include:
- Plastering and patch repairs (walls and ceilings, skimming, bonding, hard wall)
- Painting and decorating to a high standard, including preparation work
- General building repairs and maintenance
- Taping and filling, minor joinery, and making-good works
- Basic tiling, sealant works and floor coverings (advantageous)
- Completing job sheets and photos via our works management system
- Working in occupied homes with a courteous, professional manner
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a multi-skilled tradesperson with strong plastering and decorating ability
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload day to day
- Full UK driving licence (essential — a company van is provided)
- Good communication skills and a respectful approach when working in tenants' homes
- CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one)
- Basic Disclosure / PVG (or willingness to undergo checks — we can arrange this)
