We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated care team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care professional who is passionate about delivering high quality, person centred care while supporting and mentoring care staff.
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring residents receive safe, dignified, and compassionate care. You will lead by example, promote best practices, and help maintain a positive and supportive environment for both residents and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality, person centred care in accordance with individual care plans.
- Support residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration, and daily living activities while promoting independence.
- Lead and support Care Assistants during each shift to ensure consistently high standards of care.
- Administer medication in line with company policies and relevant legislation where qualified to do so.
- Monitor residents' wellbeing and promptly report any changes in health or behaviour.
- Maintain accurate care records and complete required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
- Assist with care planning, risk assessments, and resident reviews.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures, infection prevention, and health and safety requirements.
- Promote a respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment for residents and team members.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant, Care Team Leader, or experienced Care Assistant.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification is desirable.
- Good understanding of person centred care principles and safeguarding practices.
- Experience administering medication is desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering exceptional care.
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays where required.
