Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Trainee to join our tax team on a full time basis. The successful candidate will assist with the preparation of tax returns, support client compliance work, and develop technical knowledge across a range of tax disciplines.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation of personal, partnership and corporate tax returns.
- Support the completion of tax compliance work within agreed deadlines.
- Gather, organise and review financial information received from clients.
- Liaise with clients to obtain outstanding information and documentation.
- Maintain accurate client records and working papers.
- Assist with tax research and technical queries under supervision.
- Support senior team members with tax planning assignments and advisory projects.
- Monitor filing deadlines and help ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Use tax software and internal systems to prepare and submit tax returns.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and industry developments.
- Participate in internal training and work towards a recognised professional tax qualification where applicable.
Requirements
- Strong A-levels equivalent qualification in Maths, Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or a related discipline.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
