Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and responsible Dog Boarder and Pet Sitter to provide exceptional care for pets while their owners are away. This role involves ensuring animals are comfortable, safe, and well-cared for in a welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, excellent customer service skills, and the physical ability to handle various pet care tasks. Previous veterinary experience or animal care qualifications are advantageous but not essential. Duties
- Providing daily care, feeding, and administering medication to pets as required
- Ensuring pets are exercised regularly and engaged with appropriate activities
- Monitoring animals for signs of illness or distress and reporting concerns promptly
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment within kennels or pet sitting areas
- Assisting with grooming, cleaning, and general health checks of animals
- Offering companionship to pets to reduce stress and promote wellbeing
- Communicating with pet owners regarding their pets’ behaviour, health, and any incidents during their absence
- Handling heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving pet supplies or assisting with larger animals
Requirements
- Prior experience in veterinary care or animal handling is preferred but not mandatory
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and care
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required
- Reliable, organised, and able to manage multiple pets simultaneously
- Flexibility to work varied hours including weekends if needed
- Must be physically fit to handle the demands of caring for animals of different sizes and needs
