Tax Assistant – Excellent Career Opportunity
An established and growing Accountancy Practice based in East London is looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Tax Assistant to join our expanding team with immediate effect.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a successful career in accountancy and taxation. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, making this an ideal role for graduates or candidates at the early stages of their professional accountancy career.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Tax Manager, you will work closely with the tax team on a wide range of compliance and advisory matters while developing your technical knowledge and practical experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing Personal Tax Returns for individuals, directors and business owners.
Preparing and submitting CIS Tax Returns.
Assisting with Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance.
Preparing Company Corporation Tax Returns.
Liaising directly with clients, HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), and other third parties.
Managing your own portfolio of clients under supervision.
Delivering a high standard of professional client service.
Supporting tax compliance and advisory assignments.
Assisting with VAT Return preparation.
Providing bookkeeping support when required.
Assisting with payroll processing.
Supporting general office administration.
Working closely with other departments to ensure deadlines are met.
Undertaking additional duties as required to support the practice.
Following successful completion of your training, you will also:
Support and mentor junior members of the team.
Assist in developing and training new staff.
Provide support to the back-office team when required.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Essential
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related subject.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to learn and develop within a professional accountancy practice.
Professional attitude with excellent client service skills.
Desirable
Part-qualified or studying towards ACCA, ACA, ACMA, AIA, IFA, CA or another recognisedaccountancy qualification.
Previous experience in an accountancy practice (preferred but not essential).
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
