We are a growing accountancy practice looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Senior to join our team.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 6 years’ experience working within an accountancy practice and will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, preparing accounts, tax returns, and providing a high-quality service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Preparation and submission of corporation tax returns
- Preparation of personal and self-assessment tax returns
- Preparation and review of VAT returns
- Maintaining client records and ensuring deadlines are met
- Bookkeeping and reconciliations
- Assisting clients with accounting queries and providing practical advice
- Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships
- Supporting junior team members where required
Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum of 6 years of continuous experience working within a UK public accounting practice is strictly required.
- Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA (qualified by experience will be considered if practice tenure is exceptional)
- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of UK GAAP, FRS 102, and current HMRC tax regulations.
- Experience managing multiple client deadlines
- Good communication skills and ability to deal directly with clients
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skillsSoftware Experience:
Experience with the following software is essential:
- Xero
- Sage
- IRIS, CCH
- Microsoft Excel (including spreadsheets and reconciliations)
Experience with other accounting packages would be an advantage.
