About the role
We’re looking for an experienced, confident and highly reliable Car Park Supervisor to lead our parking operation during The Patch MK's 2026 Autumn season.
This is a key operational role responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient arrival, parking and departure of thousands of visitors across our daytime Pumpkin Patch and evening After Dark events.
You’ll lead our team of Parking Attendants, coordinate vehicle movements across our on-site parking areas, monitor capacity and traffic flow, and respond quickly to changing conditions throughout each event.
This is an on-site role within our private car parks and event site – you will not be managing or directing traffic on public roads.
Our car parks are one of the first and last parts of the visitor experience, and their operation can have a significant impact on the rest of the site. We therefore need someone who understands the demands of event parking and can confidently lead a team while maintaining a safe, organised and welcoming environment.
Previous experience working within event car parking is essential for this role.
Key responsibilities
As Car Park Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
- Supervising and coordinating the Parking Attendant team during each event
- Briefing the parking team before opening and allocating team members to positions
- Overseeing the safe and efficient movement of vehicles throughout our on-site parking areas
- Monitoring vehicle flow and identifying potential congestion before it becomes an issue
- Monitoring car park capacity and determining when additional parking areas need to be opened
- Coordinating the safe movement of pedestrians between parking areas and event entrances
- Managing busy arrival and departure periods
- Communicating clearly with Parking Attendants and the wider event management team using two-way radios
- Repositioning team members as traffic levels and operational requirements change
- Responding calmly and effectively to unexpected situations or changes in traffic flow
- Ensuring the parking team follows agreed procedures, risk assessments and safe working practices
- Maintaining clear access routes for emergency and operational vehicles
- Dealing professionally with visitors where issues arise within the parking areas
- Monitoring team performance, conduct and welfare throughout shifts
- Escalating safety concerns or significant incidents to event management
- Supporting the wider event operation where required
- Ensuring the carparks are kept clean and litter free
About you
This role requires someone who is comfortable taking responsibility for a busy event parking operation and leading a team in a fast-moving outdoor environment.
You’ll need to be confident making decisions, communicating instructions clearly and adapting the parking operation as visitor numbers and traffic conditions change.
You must be able to remain calm when queues build or unexpected situations arise and be comfortable taking control of the situation when necessary.
Previous event car-parking experience is essential. Applications without relevant experience will not be considered for this role.
You should have:
- Previous experience working within event car parking or event traffic management
- Experience of busy, high-volume vehicle arrivals and departures
- A good understanding of safe vehicle and pedestrian movement within event parking areas
- Confidence supervising and directing a team
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- The ability to make sensible operational decisions under pressure
- Confidence communicating with drivers and members of the public
- Experience using two-way radios in an operational environment
- A calm, organised and practical approach
- Excellent reliability and punctuality
- The ability to follow and implement site procedures and risk assessments
- The flexibility to respond to changing weather, ground conditions, traffic levels and visitor behaviour
- The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and remain on your feet for extended periods
Previous supervisory experience within an event, festival, visitor attraction or similar high-footfall environment would be particularly advantageous.

This is a seasonal casual position during October 2026, covering our daytime Pumpkin Patch and evening The Patch MK After Dark events.
Daytime Pumpkin Patch:
3–4, 10–11, 17–18 and 23–31 October 2026
The Patch MK After Dark:
9, 10, 16–17, 23–25 and 28–30 October 2026

Once shifts have been agreed, we expect you to commit fully to them. Reliability is particularly important for this role as the Car Park Supervisor is a key part of our event operations team.
Some flexibility around shift start and finish times will be required, as these will be based around visitor arrival and departure patterns.
