Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled 360 excavator operator and groundworker to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, primarily the 360 excavator, to carry out excavation and ground preparation tasks on various sites. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and safety procedures, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a team environment. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with relevant experience to contribute to diverse projects within the construction sector.
Responsibilities
- Operate the 360 excavator safely and efficiently to carry out excavation, trenching, and site clearance tasks
- Assist with groundworks including levelling, digging, and material movement
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of machinery to ensure optimal performance
- Follow site safety protocols at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and within specifications
- Assist with general site duties as required, including loading and unloading materials using appropriate equipment
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organised throughout the shift
Skills
- Proven experience operating a 360 excavator in a construction environment
- Mechanical knowledge to identify potential issues with machinery and perform basic troubleshooting
- Valid commercial driving licence (category B or higher) for transporting equipment or materials between sites if required
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to construction sites
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy loads when necessary
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
