Hours: 42.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 8:45am – 6:15pm)

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and compassionate Head Dental Nurse to lead the nursing team at our busy, patient-focused dental practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Dental Nurse who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care while supporting, developing, and inspiring colleagues. As Head Nurse, you will work closely with the Practice Manager and clinicians to ensure the practice consistently delivers exceptional clinical standards, an outstanding patient experience, and a positive working environment.

The Role
As Head Dental Nurse, you will:
- Lead, support, and motivate the dental nursing team.
- Ensure the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence are maintained.
- Oversee compliance with GDC standards, CQC regulations, HTM guidance, infection prevention and control protocols, and company policies.
- Coordinate nurse rotas and ensure appropriate clinical cover.
- Support the recruitment, induction, mentoring, and ongoing development of Dental Nurses.
- Carry out regular clinical audits and maintain accurate compliance records.
- Work closely with the Practice Manager to identify opportunities for service improvement and operational efficiency.
- Support clinicians to ensure surgeries run efficiently and patients receive an exceptional experience.
- Lead by example by providing chairside support and maintaining excellent clinical standards.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional team culture.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- GDC registration as a qualified Dental Nurse.
- A recognised Dental Nursing qualification.
- Significant experience working within a dental practice.
- Previous experience in a senior or leadership role, or the ambition and capability to step into one.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and people management skills.
- A sound understanding of CQC requirements, cross-infection control, safeguarding, and clinical governance.
- A proactive, organised, and positive approach to leadership and problem-solving.
Additional qualifications such as Radiography, Oral Health Education, Sedation, or mentoring are desirable but not essential.
