The Role
As Branch Manager, you will have full responsibility for the commercial and operational performance of the branch. You will lead the team, drive sales and profitability, and ensure the branch operates safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you will work closely with the directors, particularly during the early stages of the business. You will be accountable for sales growth, margin improvement, cost control, stock management, operational efficiency, health & safety, and delivering an outstanding customer experience across both in-branch and online channels.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 5:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team
- Recruit, train, and retain staff
- Full ownership of branch P&L; performance
- Deliver sales, margin, and profit targets
- Manage pricing, discounts, and margin control
- Develop and manage key trade accounts
- Oversee purchasing, stock control, warehousing, and yard operations
- Minimise stock loss, damage, and shrinkage
- Maintain excellent health & safety and compliance standards
- Support online, click & collect, and phone-based sales
- Track KPIs and report performance to directors
About You
You are a proven leader with strong commercial awareness and operational experience in a trade environment. You are customer-focused, financially literate, confident making decisions, and capable of treating the branch as your own business.
Experience Required
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Branch Manager within a builders merchant, decorating centre, or similar trade-focused environment. You will have a proven track record of delivering sales growth, improving profitability, leading high-performing teams, and managing operations, stock control, and health & safety.

Pay: £34,500.00-£54,642.95 per year
