We are offering an exciting opportunity for a part-time Band 8b psychologist to join us in delivering a new neuropsychological service within the specialist neurosurgical neuromodulation team. The post-holder will work closely with the MDT and provide preoperative assessment, intervention, and postoperative follow up for those on a surgical pathway.
This post is supported by the Lead Consultant Neuropsychologist, friendly team of clinical/ neuropsychologists, and the wider Health Psychology Specialty. There is access to a wealth of supervision within our supportive neuropsychology department. The post holder will be able to develop specialist skills with supervision from a Consultant Neuropsychologist. Completion of the QiCN will be supported. We have strong teaching and research links with Cardiff University, and research interests are encouraged.
We are looking for an applicant with interests in the neuropsychology of neuromodulation for chronic pain and/or spasticity. This post would appeal to an enthusiastic practitioner who holds patient care at the centre of their work.
The role includes delivering on all aspects of psychological practice with emphasis on preoperative assessment, intervention, and postoperative follow up and support as needed. The postholder will work closely with the neuromodulation MDT and liaise with other professionals and/or services involved in care, providing consultation as required. As this is a new service, the postholder will be shaping and developing the neuropsychology service with the neuromodulation MDT.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply
