HGV Technician
Up to £55,000 per annum

Our client, a well-established transport and logistics business operating a fleet of HGVs, vans, and trailers, is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their engineering team in Chadderton.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician who can work independently, take ownership of their workload, and maintain high standards of vehicle maintenance and repair.
The Role
As the successful HGV Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the company's fleet remains safe, compliant, and operational through effective maintenance, servicing, and repair work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
- Maintaining and repairing HGVs, vans, and trailers.
- Conducting vehicle safety inspections and MOT preparation.
- Using diagnostic equipment to identify faults and implement effective repairs.
- Ensuring all work is completed to DVSA and company standards.
- Completing maintenance records and job documentation accurately.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician, or similar.
- Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working on HGVs, trailers, and light commercial vehicles.
- Ability to work on your own initiative and manage workloads effectively.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- HGV licence advantageous but not essential.
