Job purpose:
This is a key role in the Group Communications team, reporting to the Director of Enablement and Delivery. The team’s role is to strengthen employee engagement and advocacy and to manage and protect corporate reputation. It looks after company-wide communications strategy, narrative, campaigns, content planning, governance and channels, and media relations.
The position is in the Enablement and Delivery team whose role is to act as central architect to shape and embed a high-performance capability by strengthening collaboration between communicators in Group and Lines of Business (LOB), working jointly on strategy and campaigns to leverage deep local knowledge and individual expertise to deliver high-impact outcomes.
What you bring to the team:
A communications specialist with experience of business partnering in large global matrix organisations and a track record in developing and delivering best-of-breed communications plans and content that is relevant, resonates, and respects the employee experience.
Key responsibilities:
Partner with senior stakeholders across key functions (Technology, Legal, M&A and Communications) to define and deliver business as usual strategic internal communications that support business priorities
Translate complex strategies and central function initiatives into clear, compelling and consumable communications for internal audiences, ensuring consistency with Group communications messaging
Be an active member of Group communications, collaborating to plan, source, and produce content for the editorial calendar
Develop strategic content for key internal communications activities, including town halls & leadership updates, ensuring clarity, alignment, and impact
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, providing good judgement and emotional intelligence while delivering at pace
Proactively source and develop high-quality content in partnership with lines of business leads and subject matter experts
Align functional communications with central strategy and campaigns, ensuring consistency across lines of business while reflecting local priorities
Identify communication risks ensuring timely and effective messaging
Use data-driven insight and feedback to continuously refine messaging and channels
Role qualifications and skills
Strong ability to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines, and deliver best-of-breed outcomes at pace
A proven track record in developing, managing and implementing engaging communications plans in global companies
Strong understanding of AI tools and technologies, with proven experience applying AI in a corporate environment to enhance communication, efficiency, and business impact
Ability to navigate complex stakeholder or matrix organisations and build trusted relationships across the communications network
Excellent writing, editorial and planning skills with an ability to synthesise complex business information into simple compelling language
A motivated, collaborative team player with a high integrity and a positive can-do attitude who passion for culture and people
Able to think creatively and critically with excellent strategic planning skills
A good understanding of print and digital, audio and advertising, plus a good sense of social media and how to use effectively in building corporate reputation
Sets an example of desired behaviour in line with BMG values, and helps to shape a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion, where people want to work
Behaves in accordance with the BMG’s policies and Code of Ethics and standards
Education and Languages
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Native or native-level English; German or additional languages are a plus
