Duties/Responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to join our team in Sheffield. In this role, you will operate machinery essential for processing reclaimed materials, supporting our mission to promote sustainable construction. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to environmentally conscious building projects while honing your technical skills. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Operate and maintain machinery used for processing bricks and stone.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
- Feed raw materials into machines accurately and efficiently.
- Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of equipment issues.
- Follow production schedules to meet project deadlines.
- Facilitate quality control checks on processed materials.
- Keep work area clean, safe and organised.
Person Specification
Essential
- Familiarity with operating industrial machinery and power tools.
- Familiarity with safety standards related to machinery operation.
- Good physical stamina to cope with hands-on work.
- Flexibility to adapt to different machinery or processes as needed.
- Good problem-solving skills for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work outside and in harsh weather conditions.
- Reliable and a good team player.
- Ability to be flexible in line with the needs of the business.
Preferable
- Formal training or certification in machine operation.
