Job Overview
We are looking for a proactive and driven Quality Engineer to join our Quality team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong manufacturing quality background who enjoys solving problems, driving continuous improvement, and building strong relationships with customers.
As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring our products and processes meet customer expectations while supporting the business in achieving the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate customer complaints and lead root cause analysis using structured problem-solving techniques.
- Liaise directly with customers to understand quality concerns and provide timely, professional updates.
- Manage customer corrective actions and ensure effective implementation and verification.
- Conduct internal process audits and support external customer and certification audits.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and Sales to improve product quality and reduce defects.
- Analyse quality data and identify trends to drive continuous improvement activities.
- Support new product introductions through quality planning activities, including PPAP, FMEA and Control Plans where applicable.
- Maintain quality documentation and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Support supplier quality activities when required.
- Promote a culture of quality throughout the business.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience dealing directly with customers and managing quality-related issues.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience using quality tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA and SPC.
- A good understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Confidence working with cross-functional teams.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
Desirable
- Experience within the aluminium extrusion or metals industry.
- Internal Auditor qualification.
- Knowledge of SAP or ERP systems.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or similar continuous improvement qualification.
