Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and supporting their early development. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children, while maintaining effective communication with staff and parents. The Nursery Manager will be responsible for implementing high standards of childcare, organising activities, and leading a team of childcare professionals to deliver exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Lead, motivate, and supervise nursery staff to deliver high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes.
- Develop and implement engaging educational activities tailored to children's developmental needs.
- Maintain strong communication with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
- Manage administrative tasks including staff rotas, record keeping, and budgeting.
- Ensure the nursery environment is clean, safe, organised, and stimulating for children.
- Support staff development through training sessions and regular performance reviews.
- Foster a positive team culture that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the nursery’s reputation within the community.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of childcare practices and early childhood development principles.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience working directly with children in a childcare or educational environment.
- Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or childcare management are preferred.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting supplies or attending external meetings.
