Overview:
To be responsible for the housekeeping service for Hotel Indigo Leeds and overall cleanliness of all public and back-of-house areas of the hotel. Ensuring the housekeeping service is delivered to the highest standards daily.
Duties:
- Advise management of changes within each contract affecting the scope of housekeeping requirements.
- Direct and control all Health and Safety related matters, carry out risk assessments and investigate all incidents and accidents occurring within the Area.
- Plan, monitor and control budgets to achieve planned business performance.
- Oversee the selection and recruitment of staff.
- Ensure that standards are consistently achieved, maintained, and reported through regular audit walk rounds with the general manager.
- Responsible for the effective operation and development of the housekeeping department in the hotel.
- You will ensure that the company brand standards of quality and cleanliness are always maintained, whilst meeting the needs of the business.
- Responsible for managing and motivating your team.
- Ensure that all staff within your department are adequately trained and developed in line with company policies and procedures.
Skills we look for in our Housekeeping Supervisor:
- Experience working in a large hotel with high volumes (essential). Experience of managing a housekeeping operation in a four- or five-star hotel (desirable)
- Confident Decision maker with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Adept at building strong and credible relationships.
- A working knowledge of H&S that impacts the housekeeping team.
- Confident working to tight timelines – guests check in at 14:00, so workload needs to be managed to make sure the rooms are ready. The ability to work well, prioritising and delegating effectively.
- Flexible, team player and good motivator.
- Strong communication skills in English; ability to clearly convey instructions and feedback
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanour
- Ability to motivate and lead a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety standards, and relevant health regulations
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
